Beginning with the start of the 2024-2025 school year, Terrell ISD will only offer school bus transportation for students who live two miles or more from the school they are zoned to attend.
Parents or legal guardians will be responsible for their student's transportation to and from school if they reside less than two miles from the school. If a parent/guardian has more than one student in the district and the students attend different schools, one of them may be eligible for bus transportation and the other one may not be eligible, because the distance between your residence and their schools is different.
The two-mile radius does not apply to students receiving special education services. Those students will still be provided with school bus transportation. There will also be exceptions made for students who are required to travel along hazardous routes, such as crossing railroad tracks or not having sidewalks.
A letter has been sent to parents who utilized bus transportation during the 2023-2024 school year and an email and text message has been sent to ALL parents who live less than two miles from the school their child is zoned to attend.
Please contact the Goldstar Transportation Company at 972-563-3939 if you have any concerns about whether your residence is less than two miles from the school your student is zoned to attend, your student receives special education services, or your student is required to travel along hazardous routes.
